2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250
May 21st, 2009
The 2008 Kawasaki Ninja is one of the best selling Kawasaki motorcycles in the franchise’s history. This smaller sports bike is fun to ride, safer than the bigger Ninjas out there, and provides enough stability and fun filled driving that it appeals to both new and experienced riders. Why? Well, here are a few reasons.
First, the bike is less expensive than bigger units. Therefore, those who are looking to buy their first motorcycle will probably be interested in the 250 because it can get them into the action for a minimal amount of money.
Second, the bike is safer than bigger bikes because it is not the powerful beast that you might think of when you think of the bigger Ninjas. Yes, it has some “get up and go” to it, but you still need to plan and use momentum when passing a semi, sort of like you do in a small 4-cylinder car.
The motorcycle is also easy to drive. It is small and lightweight, making it extremely easy to handle in places like parking lots. Even though the 08 model has gained a little weight over its predecessor and now weighs in at about 333 lbs, you will find the bike light on it’s wheels. And since the bike isn’t packed with power like larger bikes, it is safer for new riders to drive. Giving this bike gas won’t get you into near as much trouble as you can get into with a bigger Ninja.
And last but not least, this bike is fun to drive. Have you ever heard that it is more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow? Well, it seems that with the 250, less is definitely more. For some reason, being able to red-line this baby when on a straight stretch without worrying about getting a speeding ticket is amazing.
